My abstract for APCHC was accepted, woohoo! I really didn’t expect this to happen so it was fantastic when I got the email about it. The conference is a great place to present my first proper academic paper and having done something like this will probably look good if I apply for a PhD at any point (even if I don’t, I’ll be content with the amusement value of being a Computer Science graduate presenting a paper at a Classics and History conference).
I also got elected as a joint coordinator of Manchester Friends of the Earth on Tuesday, which means I’m partly responsible (along with two other coordinators) for running what is probably the biggest local FoE group in the country. This seems a bit daunting and it’s only just sunk in, but I’d already been getting more involved with the running of the group anyway so I guess becoming a coordinator was the next logical step.
Well done mate!
Cheers. 🙂
