After nearly two days of solid PHP/MySQL coding, I’ve managed to get my new weblog system into a state where it can be used by the general public. It now supports commenting and displaying of entries by year/month/day/individual entries using some fancy mod_rewrite magic (ok, not that fancy, but it works!) to make the URLs readable.
Anyway, have a look, tell me what you think and if you manage to break anything (highly likely, given that I’ve not done much testing), please let me know and I’ll fix it.
Do you actually need a degree in computer science? Seeing as you seem to know how to do all these things, what is the degree for? You can’t be doing it for a laugh.

I’m just doing it to remain a student for as long as possible. 😉
Seriously though, I don’t know how to do all these things (PHP and MySQL aren’t even covered on our course) and at the end of the day it’s a lot easier to get a job when you have a degree than going to a potential employer and saying “hey, I can do all this stuff, but I have no qualifications to prove it”.
I never learned this in getting my degrees. It’s not really standard CS fare.
